A BROWN BOX WITH A MOTH GRAPHIC

Both inner and outer sides of the box are intense warm brown. On the lid there is a large maroon moth originally conceived in a tattoo-styled design. Also, there is a beautiful ornament on the front, well-fitting to the leitmotif. The box is decorated with antique bronze metal fittings.

 

FIND OUT THE DETAILS OF CREATING THE BOX:

• Box was designed and fully made by Dorothy in Catland.
• The moth and ornaments were designed by my talented brother – Chris Rat Tattooer.
• The wood, however was carefully designed by myself and my dad who is a gifted carpenter. He helps me with the most complicated part of preparing the raw box that is cutting and gluing all parts of the wood in order to create a perfectly matching piece. Due to my dad’s unspoken support and assistance I can convert all my ‘wooden ideas’ to the reality. Each of wooden box is carefully treated in the Dorothy in Catland workshop. The process is consisted of polishing, painting, experimenting with decoupage and finally lacquering.

 

FUNCTIONALITY

This medium-sized box can be used to store all different kinds of small things. It will help you for example to keep your desk tidy as instead of placing all your notes, pens and pencils on the top, you can hide them inside this box. It will instantly make your space looking perfectly organized. Now imagine how glamorous it will look on your dressing table where you can store inside all your cosmetics.
