From the life of cats…

It’s high time to introduce you to my creatures. Here they are!

Dorothy in Catland - My cat - Pixel
Pixel

Pixel, a tabby roof cat. And it’s no disgrace that he’s such a common breed. Whatever. Haha… He’s wonderful! To confirm his belonging to the roof cat family, he simply loves walking on the nearby roofs. When he jumps from 2m, my heart stops beating for a moment, but he’s quite sure that he can do it and does it very efficiently.

And he hunts… yes, to the dismay of all bird and mouse lovers. Well, such are the vicissitudes of bird, mouse and cat life. It took me a while to accept it. At first I saved every little creature from the furry striped beast. But the cat’s cunning told him not to brag about his prey any more, it was too much of a risk of me taking it over (read: rescuing it!) But okay, that’s it, it got a bit spooky.

Dorothy in Catland - My cat - Fred
Fred

Fred is a young man who, barely alive, chose the door of my house looking for help, shelter and warmth. It was on the first day of the snowstorm, on Christmas Eve, hah, last year. Poor, exhausted, sneezing, with his eyes glued shut. As it turned out later, he had cat flu, we treated him for a long time. He recovered, but he didn’t want to go outside for the whole winter. He was afraid of snow. He stayed, much to the disapproval of the senior cat family member, Pixel. But more about that another time….

Last fall, when he was still a toddler, homeless, I saw him around my house, but he never let me get close, he always ran away and was apparently aggressive, or so the neighbor said.

Pixel definitely follows his own path. The older he gets, the less he likes petting and the more he just wants peace. Fred, on the other hand, is incredibly sociable and cuddly. He always demands attention and caresses with great noise. He is smart and loving.
